About me
DDUBBLE (aka DDUBBLE IMPACTT) are back again! For the past year they’ve been getting involved in plenty! From performing on the underground scene to fund raising events, from the internet to the radio, from audio to visual, from strength to strength. For those of you who do not know, this group are Hip-Hop artists with a refreshing new angle to a music scene often hampered by an identity crisis. The debut album “We Ain’t The same”, was dropped in 2003 surprising many and remembered by all recipients. DDUBBLE received shining reviews from Hip Hop Connection, FHM, Undercovermagazine and Breakin Point Magazine. Then is it was all about ”and...”. This limited release 4 track EP features DDUBBLE with loads more to say, which is available only on the underground and will be found only by the lucky. This summer 2006 they’re releasing ”ddubble standards” album. The ddubble meaning behind the name stems from the fact that the group will continue to set their own standards in a time where the music industry is wide open and ready for these specialists. The second reason comes from the use of jazz standards, which are used as a basis for the music by producer Mike Notes. This eagerly awaited 15 track album features DDUBBLE front men Mic’Knight and E-Po with loads more to say from their humorously different and intelligent angle and the widely praised producer Mike Notes, known for his earlier work on Different Drummer label, and the critically acclaimed BEATRHYMECONNECTION in 2002. Also including DJ Clockwork on the cut and some of the production (UK Vestax Finalist, Copenhagen Turntable Techniques Finalist, 2002 and 2003, UK DMC Team Finalist 2003 alongside DJ Sneakee, under the name 'Drunken Masters', UK DMC Finalist 2002) who has one of the most original and funkiest flows in the UK! DDUBBLE have major projects on the boil. They are one of the first to take advantage of Weedshare, which offers a solution to artists and record companies who receive no money for music that is downloaded and shared on the Internet. They will be involved in many other projects too, some too early to mention, “Because it’s bad luck”. Throughout 2004/5 they were working with Nike, which involves presenting “Panna KO” national event. This is a new street one-on-one football tournament that originated in Rotterdam, Holland. In April 2005 they were busy being filmed as the main feature in an advertisement for a large US telecommunications company called Verizon. This advertisement is being screened repeatedly during 2005/6 throughout the United States. The twins have always been interested and involved in working with children by teaching creative writing, also teaching them confidence to perform their own written pieces in front of an audience. Not forgetting the sequel to Melvin: Portrait of a Player starring the twins. Part one was nominated for numerous awards by the BFM. Part 2 will be released in 2006 with the aim of hitting the big screen along with other film projects with the critically acclaimed Miles of Styles film group with Lawrence Coke. DDUBBLE are currently being sponsored by premier British streetwear brand clothing company called Aerosoul (www.aerosoul.co.uk), who continuously “Redefine Urban Threadz”. With all of these projects kicking off now and the near future we’re guaranteed to keep seeing DDUBBLE! Industry Comments: Fatman Scoop: “I’m feeling this!” Hip Hop Connection: “Doubly Dope!
